The Founder
From Hillbrow to the UK.
I was born in Hillbrow, Johannesburg, and grew up in Boksburg on the East Rand — a place where good food and good company were a way of life.
My passion for cooking began in my grandmother’s kitchen, where simple ingredients were transformed into comforting feasts that brought people together.
A Tradition Rooted in Sustainability
Nothing went to waste in her home. Whole cows, pigs, lamb, and even wild local venison arrived at her door - and every part was used. From hearty family meals to handmade dog food and soap, she transformed simple ingredients into something special.
But her biltong was legendary: rich aroma, careful curing, the perfect balance of spice - it was taste that defined home.
