About Boksburg Deli

Boksburg Deli was born out of a love for food, family, and South African tradition.

From my grandmother’s kitchen in Boksburg to your table in the UK — this is more than biltong. It’s a piece of home.

The Maker

I was born in Hillbrow, Johannesburg, and grew up in Boksburg on the East Rand — a place where good food and good company were a way of life. My passion for cooking began in my grandmother’s kitchen. She was an extraordinary cook and baker, known for turning simple ingredients into feasts that brought people together.

A Tradition Rooted in Sustainability

Nothing went to waste in her home. Whole cows, pigs, lambs, and even wild local venison would arrive at her door, and every part was used — from hearty family meals to handmade dog food and soap. Among all her creations, biltong was something truly special. The rich aroma, the careful curing, the perfect balance of spice — it was a taste that defined home.

That same spirit inspires everything we do at Boksburg Deli today.

Each batch of our biltong is a tribute to those early lessons in craftsmanship, respect for ingredients, and the joy of sharing real food made with care.
